Trick released Special One in 2003, their first CD of new music
since 1997’s self-titled release, which many fans of the band considered
to be one of their finest hours since the quartet's hit-making heyday
in the late 1970s and early 1980s. It was no surprise that while this
new release was rabidly anticipated by the band's faithful fans, many
of whom travel from city to city to attend their concerts, Special
One was greeted with apathy from the general public and the media.
Those who view the band as an "oldies" act are missing out on
some solid rock and roll, especially in the case of the aforementioned
'97 release.
