In
1974, Rush was simply three guys making a loud noise, mostly in
Canada and the northeastern United States. Thirty years later, they are
a multi-platinum selling rock legend. They are the band that made art
rock palatable to the general public. Perhaps the most unlikely band to
spawn hit singles, Rush nevertheless managed to release a plethora
of records that infiltrated rock radio and early MTV. Guitarist Alex
Lifeson, bassist/singer Geddy Lee, and drummer/lyricist Neil
Peart have continued to evolve and release quality records that their
loyal following have snapped up immediately upon their release. Their
2003 DVD Rush In Rio was one of the best selling music DVDs of
all time, proving their longevity. |
