"Imagine one truck carrying a brass band colliding head on with another truck carrying a rock band. Everybody flies into the air and lands in the kitchenware section of Dillard’s."

I used the truck collision analogy to introduce Liquidrone to the audience at Anne Rice’s Vampire Lestat Fan Club’s Annual Gathering Of The Coven on Halloween 1999. The following year I used words like “unique” and “original.”

Back then, the band consisted of Marty Lastrapes (bass), Ryan Farris (Drums), Talice Lee (violin, vocals, and found sounds), and, instead of the usual guitarist, the horn section of Emilie Smart (baritone sax) and Cason Duke (trombone, sousaphone, and evil laughter). Clint Maedgen, mastermind of Liquidrone, led this krewe singing lead, playing saxophone, accordion, and an array of pots, pans, and found sounds. A Liquidrone show was like no other and I was alarmed when I heard rumors of a major lineup change.
