After the first couple of songs, Grohl mentioned that he needed the crowd’s help since he was losing his voice, a fact that became more and more evident as the show progressed. One might expect Grohl to temper his vocals a bit due to this factor. Instead he just lubricated his throat liberally with beer, kept near at hand in the beer holder attached to his customized microphone stand. Neither did it discourage him from talking in between songs.

The Foo Fighters have a reputation for making unique videos that usually go into high rotation on MTV. However, in the case of Low, costarring actor and Grohl pal Jack Black, this was not so. MTV refused to play it due to content issues and the band opted to release it as a DVD single just to allow their fans to be able to view it.

Grohl is understandably peeved about this turn of events and has used this fact as the intro to the song just about every time they perform it live (as witnessed on the group’s Everywhere But Home DVD). Before launching into the song tonight, he explained the premise of the video for those who had not had the opportunity to view it yet.
