Not having seen the band in concert since 1983, I was unsure of how they would compare to their performance two decades ago. Unlike many haggard 80's acts currently saturating the touring market, The Fixx (Curnin especially) are physically fit and sound flawless. Appearing more mature rather than older, they convincingly convey both old and new material alike . The still slim Curnin possesses a strong and at times Bowie-esque voice and portrays the same dignified and mysterious stage persona from years past.
West-Oram stretches out the guitar arrangements, augmenting the precise arrangements of the recorded tracks with extended solos, all the while retaining his stoic manner. Greenall is an often overlooked and yet vital ingredient in the band's makeup, using his keyboards to morph his own backing vocals into otherworldly sounds. Woods, appearing a bit more aged than the rest, efficiently maintains the backbeat. Tibbs, shorn of the golden locks and flamboyant dress and makeup of his Ants days, ably supports the band with dexterous bass lines and backing vocals.
