THE PRODIGY and FATBOY SLIM
CD Review by Ritchie Champagne
the prodigy
A long wait usually generates an elevated level of anticipation that is difficult to live up to. Tragically, sometimes you wait for what seems like forever for something to arrive and when it finally does, it’s disappointing. Two artists that I have held in high esteem are The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim.

I was in Europe in 1997 when The Prodigy’s Fat Of The Land was released and began its course of worldwide dominion. I resisted its lure as long as I could because, dammit, I didn’t do electronica. I eventually succumbed and have since decided that this is a five star record.
I purchased their older records but the wait would be long for a new full length CD. A single with only one new track, Baby’s Got A Temper, was released in 2002. Then nothing. Ultimately, it would be seven long years between Fat Of The Land and 2004’s Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned.
