For
a band whose first full length CD, Room Noises, has only
been out since February of this year, Eisley has accomplished
quite a bit. This young Texan band played the prestigious Voodoo
and Coachella Festivals and toured with Coldplay
and Snow Patrol, among others, even before Room Noises
was released. They’ve been slowly building their audience by touring
incessantly for a couple of years, and have now embarked on their first
ever headlining tour. The band will embark on a tour with Hot
Hot Heat later this summer. |

Eisley
is a family affair. Bassist Jonathan Wilson is joined
by Chauntelle Dupree (guitar), Sherri Dupree
(vocals and guitar), Weston Dupree (drums), and Stacy
Dupree (vocals and keyboards). In addition, the Dupree
patriarch Boyd is on the road with the group, mixing
sound, taking care of business and posting tour updates to the band’s
website. Keeping it in the family is probably a good idea being that two
of the Duprees, Stacy and Weston,
at 16 and 19 respectively, are still not of legal age. The rest of the
band is not much older. Their youth belies their tightness as a performing
unit, which began in 1997 when the three sisters started playing together. |
