Crescendo

I attended three stops on the Reality World Tour which illustrated how much Bowie is determined to switch up the set list as time goes by. The first was in New York’s famous Madison Square Garden on December 15, 2003. This was only the second gig on the first North American leg of the tour (the previous five scheduled dates were cancelled due to illness) but the band showed the benefit of having already spent a month touring Europe. The musicians functioned as a tight unit, augmenting but never upstaging each other or their boss. Most of the players in this band have been with Bowie for years; Slick and Garson have backed him on and off since the early 1970s.
